SOS!! How to get rid of the plastic smell in Electric Kettle??? Have been trying to get rid of this smell since Sunday but the smell is still there! :confused:

Try adding a couple of teaspoons of lemon juice and salt in the kettle together with some water. The salt and citric acid will agitate the scale build up. When the mixture comes to a boil swish it around the kettle before you discard the mixture. =)

You can also try using vinegar to get rid of the bad odor.

Hey hey! Do you know that lemon juice and vinegar can also get rid of onion smell on hands after cutting onions.

why would you have smell in a kettle? did you cook something in it?

i think usually lemon will do the job of removing the smell.

i'm not sure vinegar would work, just worry that the strong strench from vinergar will stay in the kettle instead.
