Is it ok to dress up blinds with curtains? Do you think it's too much?

Actually it can work if you keep clean and simple like this http://www.roomu.net/files/user11/roomimage/living-room-blinds.jpg

There is a purpose for having 2. It's just like having a day curtain and a blackout which is fairly common. The blind serves as a day curtain, allowing some light into the room whereas the curtain serves as the blackout, blocking most light.

I've done this and it looks marvelous! I bought a brown curtain and some beige roller blinds from Blinds UK. The combination is simply spectacular . You may try some other ideas. I also wanted to buy some fancy venetian blinds made of real wood but I think this will be postponed for another time. You can also combine bamboo blinds with some yellow curtains. Combinations are uncountable!

As long as it is not overdecorated, that will be fine. Simple for me is the best. :)

to me i prefer curtain then blinds. i like the flowing down effect of the curtain, it makes the room softer feel.
