Auspicious Date for Commencement of Renovation

Hi, need some urgent advise here.

I'm quite a supertitious person and therefore believes in certain fengshui thingee.

I understand that it's important to get an auspicious date for commencement of renovation works (Dong Tu). The contractor from HDB is going to do some rectification works first. Is this considered Dong Tu or do I ask the geomancer to suggest a date for the main renovation work by my interior designer.

hazel nut, if the rectifications involved hacking and hammering then i believe it's considered as Dong Tu.

To my knowledge, as long as you avoid seventh lunar month(Hungry Ghost Festival).. Any date should be fine I think
