post renovation cleaning process.

We just recently renovated our house and we have enough trash to fill up a 1 ton truck. These rubbish includes: wood, gyp rock, carpet and general household trash. I've been searching around for rubbish removals and found that most of them costs ~$800 to $900. However, my daddy said it was 'too expensive', and that it would be cheaper to hire a truck and dump it in a landfill. I would much prefer to call rubbish removals, even so, I am unable to convince him. So, how much does it cost to dump rubbish?
