is it possible to sell a flat that you have taken a grant and stayed for less then 5 years?

i believed you can if you have a valid reason like maybe divorce. however if you have taken a grant (eg near parents), if you were to purchase another new flat, HDB might not allow you to move away from your parents as the grant kicks in. therefore you might want to consider your location carefully.

You cannot sell your flat if you have not fulfill the minimum stay period, even in the case of divorce. You will need to sell the flat back to the HDB or you will have to wait till the minimum period is over before a sale can be conducted.

happylalalpo is generally right but I know of an exception. The HDB flat can be sold to/bought over from your ex-spouse if there is a court order.
