Winter food is usually in abundant supply and hunger of wild pheasants is practically unheard of, so the main purpose of food and cover plots is to help wearing female birds through the winter in good condition. This is achieved by establishing safe foraging patterns, provides a reliable source of food and to reduce unnecessary travel.
