    Default $400k investment

    which would you advice? Buy studio (with some loan which can be paid off in 2-3yrs) or buy ocbc preference share?

    depends on how liquid you need your investment to be. with shares, u can sell easily and anytime and get money fast if you need it. you can also sell part of your investments. with property, you have to sell as a whole and selling of property might take much longer depending on demand. if you don't need liquidity and can hold for as long as it takes. i personally would prefer to buy a property especially in land scarce singapore.

    3 bedroom at a budget of 400-500k at current market still not very possible. u need wait out abit more for it to dive lower i think. unless you have more cash to spare

    How about moving up about 150K to 600-750K? Cannot imagine some over 30yr-old HDBs selling at 600K and above. Was wondering if can get some condos (3 rm) in that price bracket in the Clementi area

    on a similar situation, do you think buying a hdb flat is also consider an investment say you can choose to stay in or rent out?
