How do you determine the best rug size for your room?

i suppose when you said rug, it's those floor mat that usually people placed at the entrance of the door or beside the bed.

if your are referring to the bigger kind like carpet, then i think it really depends on your space, design and purpose.

i used to have a rug which is about the size of s single bed which i placed it beside the bed to create the warm feel but decided to remove it cos i have a dog at home and imagine the fur.

I think the ideal rug size is quite fluid. It depends on the room size and the furnishings you have in the room...
