    Default Granite countertops

Granite countertops do they normally come already sealed? Do we need to seal again time to time?

Granite tops are not as good as the recent popular Korean top. Korean top you can sand it off every couple of years and will be as good as new and all stains will be removed. (Korean top = A big chunk of plastic top)

Granite countertops need to be sealed once a year. When countertops have water beading up is ok but when water soaks in u would need to resealed. Some hardware stores sell those sealers. Good sealers will last u 2-3 yrs. But normally would need to seal counter tops once a year.

Applying Sealant to your countertops is a way to protect them from being damage once they are installed. The life of this sealer varies based on a number of factors, but you can estimate that you will need to reapply the sealer to your countertops every two to three years.

Even though granite is usually expensive, you can find some deals if you are willing to look around a little and do some research. One of the best ways to save some money is to go to the granite warehouse directly and pick your own stone. You can choose from among less expensive pieces if you wish, just ask the granite salesperson what the differences, advantages, etc., there are between different pieces. Often it is just veining pattern, or how much a piece is pitted or not.
