Free-roaming pets and furniture
What precautions do you take so they won't destroy your furniture?

I use a slipcover for my sofa to protect it from fur and other accidents..

spray those disinfectent that the pets don't like lor. that would prevent them i think.
i don't know i personally don't have this problem. my dog don't anyhow chew things. she only jump up to my sofa to sleep when no body is around. but that is ok except that her fur all drop there.
also sometimes when we close the door and she get excited and start barking when someone is at the door, she starts to scratch the door and that leaves marks but not obvious cos my door is those dark wooden door.

Anytime your pet attempts to mess around with the furniture, teach them a lesson, literally and figuratively.

i don't know, generally my dog don't give me big problem but somethings when i whack her because she do something wrong, she might be remorseful for a while but just only awhile then she do it again.
bit and scold also no use.
